 OBVERSE - Uniformed bust of John Stark left, star in field to left. Inscription below bust 
"BORN AUG. 28, 1728  DIED MAY 8, 1822."  Inscription around
MAJ. GEN'L JOHN STARK U.S.A.   LOVETT, FEC. AGED 93 YEARS, 8 MOS. 24 DAYS  
HERRICK FEC."
 
REVERSE -  In center wreath open at top, ribbon at bottom enclosing three shields
with various scenes and "VT." , "N.H." and "MASS." above and "AUG. 16, 1877, AUG 16, 1777".
Inscription above "AT BENNINGTON, VT.", below "ISSUED BY THE VT. NUMISMATIC
SOCIETY ".  Inscription around "TO COMMEMORATE THE CENTENNIAL 
CELEBRATION OF THE BATTLE OF BENNINGTON  1878".
